A TFT display module is characterized by the fact that each LCD pixel on the display is driven by an integrated thin film transistor behind it. This allows information to be displayed on the screen with high speed, brightness and contrast. The TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) is one of the most common types of liquid crystal displays.
What are TFT displays?
TFT displays are the most widely used display devices on various types of laptops and desktops. The LCD panel consists of two glass substrates filled with liquid crystals, which are essential components of the TFT LCD screen. The backlight also includes many other components, such as upper and lower iron frames, LED lights, illuminating films, etc. Only with the backlight can the TFT LCD screen be turned on. Each LCD pixel on this type of screen is driven by a thin film transistor integrated behind the pixel, so TFT type displays are also known as active matrix displays. They are among the best colour LCD displays. TFT displays offer advantages such as high responsiveness, high brightness, and high contrast, and their display effect is similar to that of CRT displays.
In addition to the panel and backlight, TFT displays also include integrated circuits (ICs), ribbon cables, top and bottom polarizers, and even combinations of touch screens and PCB boards. These elements are also known as TFT liquid crystal displays.
Semiconductor materials and ITO (indium tin oxide) are arranged in the order designed on a glass substrate for coating with photoresist. Part of the coating is exposed and the exposed photoresist is cleaned. The semiconductors and ITO not covered by the photoresist are removed, forming a part of the circuit; then the remaining photoresist is cleaned. To complete the entire circuit, it is often necessary to repeat the steps described above five times.
The uses of the TFT display
Currently, TFT display modules are widely used in sectors such as energy, transportation, industry, healthcare, smart home, and artificial intelligence. With the rise of smart products, the use of TFT LCD screens will continue to grow in the future.
The above is a brief introduction to the production process of the entire TFT display module, which includes the TFT array process, the LCD panel process and the LCD module process. Each of these steps is very important and can be considered indispensable, as they directly affect the quality of the product and the cost control of the LCD module.
